Default Dyna wheelie issue

What’s up guys,

just wondering if this happens to anyone else while they stunt their bikes.

I have a 2003 dyna fxdp

when I wheelie (sit down) I can get it up to 12 o’clock in first gear but my bike dies around 11-12 o’clock. But when I’m in second gear and standing on the seat (stand ups) I can ride the wheelie for as long as I can but I’m only at about 10 o’clock. I’ve heard that not enough gas is getting to the cylinders. I have a stock cv carb that was tuned but I heard there was a mod you can do that involves drilling a hole for consistent flow throughout the carb??

just wondering if anyone knows how to do this mod because it is very annoying for my buddies to ride out their wheelies while I’m stuck questioning my bike???

Happened all the time, hated it.

My solution was to quit with the wheelies.

Never get stuck questioning my bike about that anymore--so nice.

BTW, nice first post.

Welcome to the forums!
Wish I had some helpful ideas on the fuel starving at that angle , must be frustrating. Since you are in the "Wheelie World" so to speak, can you recommend a dependable wheelie bar for my '09 fxdf? Thanks in advance!

Stock carb will cut your fuel. Get a mikuni

Can you please clarify this post?

Pierce,

Welcome to the forum. It will go a long way if you go in the new member introduction section and introduce yourself there and your bike. I look forward to a solution to your issue.

I put the guy into my ignore list, at the risk of missing out on a possible wealth of information the OP may have to offer.

Sorry I was so vague...

While you may not have any interest in doing wheelies, why do you find it necessary to post something like this for someone who asked a legitimate question? If you have some prior history with this individual, or know that he is a troll, please explain. I find your response disrespectful not only to this individual. but to all of us on this forum.

Dave

Judging by his first post, I don`t expect any posts by this guy to have any information that could be useful to me.
So don’t comment then. Jeeez

Anyways, the mod you’re talking about with drilling the carb is on the mikuni. It’s to fix the squirting fuel of the carb because of the breathing hole is on the bottom when 12’oclocking your bike. The stock carb is trash and cuts your fuel.
