RE: Tank Emblem Removal Problem(STILL NEED HELP)
'If 'Revolution 9' was John's excursion into mayhem on 'The Beatles', 'Helter Skelter' was Paul's. But it was Ringo who added the perfect finishing touch. Having drummed as if his life depended on it, his "I've got blisters on my fingers!" scream was preserved as the song's great climax.

RE: Tank Emblem Removal Problem(STILL NEED HELP)
My blister on my thumb just healed from removing that stuff. Used WD40 and my thumb. Don't know about everyone else but what ever adhesive HD used on my was almost impossible to get off. Must say however the bike looks much better without the emblems.

I was just at an auto parts store looking for that stuff and they didn't have ANY 3M products. Will hit Advance Auto Parts tomorrow. Don't have any problem getting the adhesive off, but with the rubber remaining on the tank, can't get the rubber off to get to the adhesive.

RE: HELP!!!! Tank Emblem Removal Problem
Picked up some 3m Adhesive, wax, tar remover this AM. Got one side of tank cleared off. Hope I didn't go through the clear coat. Some areas looked kinda scuffed and cloudy. When I get the other side off, I'll wash down the bike and wax the tanks and see if I can get them looking good.
Didn't really find the 3M product any better than others I have here, just takes a lot of rubbing on these tanks, no matter what product.

Finally got the job done!!!!!!
How SWEET it is!! It took me a while to get them emblems and goop off the tanks. When I got done, I scrubbed the whole bike (needed it anyway), and blew it off with my Metro Air Force Blaster. Then I went to work on the tanks to remove the cloudy appearance where the tape was. I used my Mequiar's NXT Tech Paste wax and I worked the hell out of it. I finished it off in the garage and looks like I got it about 98% but will know more when I take it out in the daylight tomorrow. My A$$ is draggin right now.
I love Jackyl's tank lift and now it looks even cleaner with the emblems gone. Never did like 'em.
Thanks to all who responded and encouraged me to keep at it.
