I'd stay pretty much with the HD recommedation. Change the oil & filter at 50 miles and do it again at 500 miles. From that point on I'd do the oil & filter every 1500 miles. Before any of the above be sure to check every bolt, nut, screw, etc. on the bike before you ride it any distance. Check all fluids as well. GL on your new machine!

Look at it this way, HD employs the engineers who designed the motor. They have a reputation to uphold, warranties to honor and they are under the constant threat of lawsuits. So, do you follow HD's advice or some unknown guy who has a webpage? I'd say it's a no brainer.
