Married a 3Guyz oil filter relo kit and a ultracool fan assist oil cooler today
When we decided to move to SW Florida I knew the already hotter then hell 110 would want an oil cooler. I also really like the 3Guyz oil filter relocation kit. Had it on a previous Dyna, a Rushmore and a FXR. But I didn’t like the idea of stacking both the Ultracool and the 3Guyz diverters. I decided to get creative. I spoke to the Ultracool guys and asked if their diverter has any thermo controlled valving, and was told no. It’s a 100% diverter, so every drop of oil on its way to the filter goes through the cooler, 100% of the time. The important part of the Ultracool diverter is the fitting for the fan controller temp sensor.
With this info, I decided I’d use the 3Guys cone, take the dirty side and run it through the Ultracool, then run the output of the Ultracool to the input of the 3guyz remote oil filter block, with the return (filtered and cooled oil) feeding back to the motor through the 3Guyz cone. All I needed to do is change two of the the 3Guyz AN8 fittings to AN6 as used by Ultracool. The 3Guyz guyz said they over engineered it using the AN8 and larger hose. AN6 would flow all the oil pump could move, so no worry about restriction. Jegs had the fittings I needed and 3guyz machined a flat on the cone and tapped it for the temp sender. Couldn’t be better if I designed it myself.
So earlier today, in my sweltering garage I got it together. Dropped the oil (needed to switch to Red Line anyway, after my 113 kit install) and installed the kit. Filled it back up, ran it for a few minutes to check for leaks (none) before fleeing back to AC.
Tomorrow morning I’ll wire it up. I also have to put my Arlen Ness BBK rotors on the fronts but I want to get this finished first. So brakes will be next week.
As many here know about me, I am awful with documenting jobs like this, and worse at taking photos. So here’s all I got.

I haven’t gotten one of those dipsticks for this bike yet.
