Default Why Dynas hold the least oil capacity between all HD models?

I don't get it, even though they share the same engine with Softails & Tourings they still have less oil capacity than the others

Data taken from HD, USA web site(Oil capacity in Metric units)

Sportsters = 3.4 Ltrs
Dynas= 2.8 Ltrs
Softails = 2.85 Ltrs
V rods = 4.3 Ltrs
Tourings = 3.8 Ltrs

Any ideas why??

I noticed that, too. I'd rather have more oil in there, but I guess it does'nt matter, as long as there's enough in there to pull from. It's just one more reason that I change my oil every 2500 instead of 5000.

Dyna's don't waste oil in hoses.
The missing 0.8 can be found in the Softail inlet and outlet hoses.

Seriously, the way the Dyna engines contain engine oil is much more efficient.

It sure makes it harder to install an oil cooler, though.

An extra quart of oil would slow us down.

Maybe thats why 2007Dynas run hotter! (2006 Dynas have the same oil capacity, butfor smaller engine, 88)

Don't the others have oil tanks?.. meaning you have to waste some volume just to keep oil in the tank and also in the feed pipes.

There used to be a green gremlin in AMF oil tanks but Harley put black magic on it.

Yeah, I've cleaned the goop out of a lot of AMF oil tanks....Oh my gosh.

Proably just a conversion roundup difference from quarts to liters, 2.8 vs 2.85, if you get out your calculator you'll see. They are the same.
