Default Close up Photos of H.D. Front Sig Relocate ?

Im looking to see if mine are just a bad set. Camera left town yesterday so I cant post pics till next week. Anyway, I did the relocate for the front turn signals using Harleys kit. I like the look but they just dont fit tight up against the front leading edge. Here is a old photo when the bike was factory fresh. The red arrow is pointing to the area which hasa gap as thick as a quarter. Isnt it supposed to sit flush all around? Now I do like the look so I guess a little grinding?

I have the same kit and it doesen't flush up, crappy design if you ask me.
Kind of wish I had spent the extra dime and did the Kuryakin kit instead.

I put my f. turns. way south.. I mounted my turn sigs. right were the front fender bolts up. Looks sweet, and you'll never see it in a catalog. I made some simple brakets out of 11 gauge steel plate, bought 3" (if I remember correctly) bolts, and a small piece of tubing to act as a spacer and also cover the long bolt so you don't see any threads. Lights fit tight upclose tothe forks too for a stream lined look too.
Later fish.

I bought em' too and they fit like crap. As for how far they stick out, I'm sure Harley is just trying to make them more to DOT standard where Karyaken and others don't have to, they can satisfy the "cosmetic" market. Having said that I'll probably come up with something on my own over the winter.

Gotta go with the group on this one. The H-D brand relo kit doesn't fit up worth a damn. Here's a close-up pic that I took for this exact reason. I wanted to show some out-of-town relatives before they made the same mistake. Big gap between the forks and the signal stems. Oh yeah, they stick out worse than a radiator at Sturgis, too.

There's a guy on this fourm that cut the H-D stocks down to size and they look quite good. Jamman is his screen name. His were nice and close to the forks and fit much more cleanly. His post (with pics) is about halfway down the page:

I also agree with the board on this one. I have them on my lowrider and they look like $hit... I am thinking of cutting them down over the winter in the off season.

You might as well bite the bullet and spend the sixty bucks for the Kury mounts, the rest is just a little time and labor. I did and it was worth it,I hated the factory kit.

Good Luck

Tom
