I find my vibes only occur at a certain rpm - keep away from that. no probs. Someone mentioned old brit bikes and how they vibed - ain't that the truth, I well remember the clocks vibing themselves to destruction too, they were no picnic believe me! Anyone coming to biking after the mid eighties has really been spoiled by the smoothness (mostly) of Jap engines, stick them on a 'proper' bike and they can't cope. I've had all sorts of Jap (and German) bikes over the years - nice, but most of them lack anything in the way of charm or character. Sure my Harley vibes but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm seriously thinking of buying a Triumph ST Sprint, but the Harley stays as well.

They all buck like a bronco at idle, but smooth out on acceleration. If it doesn't, sumtin wrong.

 

harley's vibrate, but at least they vibrate with a low frequency, try riding a parallel twin motorcycle, they'll make your hands go numb.

Had a Kawasaki Versys, no vibration.

 

If any body parts go "numb," then you are causing nerve damage. Eventually, this accumulation is permanent.

 

wow, didn't know that. Many parallel twin sport bikes create high frequency vibration that will cause numbing, they make "heavy bar ends" for the grip ends that steady the handlebars and reduce the vibration and they work well. Ninja 500's & 650's will make your hands numb after about 30 minutes, I know because I used to own these bikes. They cruise at about 6,000 rpm's.

 

A thread of some loser complaining about a Harley vibrating is as asinine as some other loser complaining about too much wind or buffeting on a Harley.
If you don't like it, buy a Prius.................
