Default Power Commander vs Stage 1 SE

I put a set of the Harley 80418-06 slash cut mufflers on my 2006 SG. As they break in a bit the bike is starting to pop a bit on decel. (lean?) I want to add a K&N Filter so my understanding is I should do a re-calibration. What's the better way to go, the Harley Stage 1 route or just do a Power Commander myself? I am a 30 year Meachanic so I have a good understanding of ECM's and related components.

If you are planning to change/add more performance parts in the future go with Power Commander, otherwise stick with HD download.

Reason Rebel78? Do I just ask the Dealer for a Stage 1 Download? Thanks!

For what you re doing the stage one will be fine. Any dealer can do it for you - most charge about $150 or so for the remapping. I went with a power commander on mine and bypassed the download. either way willdo.

The download should work, but don't put your new airfilter on until it's done. Ride to your dealer and put it ( new airfilter) on in the parking lot..easy..saves money..then get your download. (This is what I'm gonna do next weekend!)
