When I decided to go from sport bikes to a cruiser, I was looking hard at various Sportster models. Went to a Demo Day event in 2014 and tried a 1200 Custom and 48. Was talking to HD rep who was there and told him I wanted a bike with dual disc front brakes, 6 speed trans, and a bigger motor. He replied "how about the Low Rider?" which had just been reintroduced. Demo'd one and bought one. For me, no contest. Dyna all day long over the Sportster.

Funny you mention that. My XL1200L was so low it constantly scraped going over speed bumps, so I raised it, front and back, 1". The sporty is a lot narrower, so I could get away with that.

I have sat on Ultras, and its hard for me to even reach the stinking jiffy stand. Thats one reason I am leery of them. I know the SGS sits lower than the ultra.

Toe Cutter
I have been eyeing them, but I do have a budget thats pretty low.

Are there a good number of saddlebag options for a dyna?

OK now what about those of you that ride two up? As I mentioned, 2-3 trips tops, and most would be single day, when 2 up.

Do the dyna engines have more or less vibes than a rubber mount sportster?

Those do look SLIGHTLY bigger than the Viking bags on mine. I sure don't want smaller.

Dyna's are rubber mounted as well. The vibes seem to be different from bike to bike.
My buds FXDL bars barely shake, my bike shakes a lot sometimes.

They are very nice size... I can put a 12 pack and extra clothes in there as well as my tools just in one side.. You know the important things..But not too big to look gawky...

Guess I will have to look closer at those bikes when this all clears up.
