Dang. I feel sorry for you folks who have to put your bikes up during the winter. I just rode mine to work today. Granted...it was a little nippy. Houston Tx
Take care

How are you guys hooking up the charger to the bike without removing the seat?

I was doing some mods under the seat and found pigtail lead with an 7.5 amp inline fuse. I noticed these pigtails at the dealer, and was thinking of purchasing one when I found that one already existed on my bike. It was like, ah, like Christmas for 1/2 second.

Does HD put these pigtails on every bike?

I think it's up to the dealer to install the pigtails. My dealer claims they do it on all of their bikes. Merry Christmas anyway!

Yup, battery tender. You can get them from cycle gear online.

I like the Deltran Battery Tender Jr

I got my battery tender fromt he dealer for 35 bucks. The pig tail sticks out from the right side of your seat area. EASY to install, just need a 10mm wrench for the battery leads. I keep mine plugged in all of the time!

The main difference between them is the output. The JR puts out .75 amps and the plus puts out 1.25 amps. As a maintenance charger the JR is more than enough. Fast charging of any battery can damage the battery by warping the plates from overheating.
