Default Flush Front Axle

Considering replacing the front axle on my ‘99 DX. Anyone running or have experience with a flush axle on a narrow glide?

I've looked quite a bit for my 2000 FXDX. The closest I've found was from Adjure (mostly known for lighting). While it wasn't a perfect fit for me, you may be in luck as I'm pretty sure it was for applications up to '99. I may still order one, as thanks to the great multihdrdr for taking some measurements for me, it seems that it could be made to fit my application with a small amount of lathe work.

That was the one I had my eye on, same as a sporty fit for my front end. Just wondered if anyone had used one.

If It's like the Klock Werks axle, I might be able to provide a tiny bit of input. I've got their bagger axle on my 08 wide front. Works good but it is heavy and was kind of a pain to install the captive nut on the left side.

Chris, would you say it's a pain if you take the front wheel off periodically? I can't really think of a good example off the top of my head, but I seem to have the wheel on and off several times a season (at least). And the seat... And the tank... I guess I just like messing around with little details constantly.

But I love the look of flush axles!

Not an issue with the Klock Werks axle. Once the captive nut was pressed in (the hard part), it never comes back out. Loosen the cap on the right slider and screw out the axle. Easy as pie. Once up in the air, I can pull the front wheel in under five minutes.

Ah, gotcha! Sounds easy-peasy after initial install!

It looks really similar to the Klockwerks one, honestly. Here is a link the one F86 and I were talking about. I would just have to figure out how to make the ends black

Yeah, looks very similar.

Captive nut on mine is knurled and gets pressed in. The Adjure looks like it may just slide in and get secured by the pinch bolts.

Powder coat the ends.
