SE-204 cams should I do it?
I found a guy local selling a slightly used set of SE-204 cams for $175 and I was thinking about picking them up for my Street Bob. I have an '07 and have the stage 1 kit on it w/ a tuner already, I am thinking I can install these during the next few months while its in the garage. Are the SE-204's a good match to my '07 96c.i.? I have heard so many different opinions on cams, I am looking for a good mix of low end and top end performance. Is $175 a good price for a used set or should I keep looking for other options?

Not ideal for your engine but better than stock. You can get some better performance and more lift out of other cams that match to the 07 heads better. Should look at the Andrews 57, Redshift 527, or maybe the Rocket 574. Do it once and do it right. They will also set you up better for the big bore, if you ever do it.

I can't comment on SE 204. On my '07 Street Bob with a 96" I used Andrews 48. I knew I wasn't going to do a bore increase, and my understanding was that the 48's are an excellent choice if you were doing a cam only upgrade. Another thing I liked was that with the 48's, if you use a 0.30 head gasket you can re-use your stock pushrods, as per the Andrews engineer I talked to.
I don't have an electronic file of my dyno run, but it pulls nicely early, immediately up to 100 foot lbs. of torque and stays there. I installed them over 50,000 miles ago am still very happy with them.
If you go to the tech section of the forum you can find lots of useful information about cams, including the 204's.
Good luck with whatever you do.

I had a set of SE 204's in my 07 Road Glide. They work exceptionally well in the 96/103 engine. There was no soft bottom end and when i put the 103 big bore kit in, it just got better. Only reason they are not still there, when me and Revolution Performance built the engine to 110, i put fueling gear drive cams in there.
