Default Re-routed breather question

Having fitted an SE air cleaner I've been wondering about re-routing the cylinder head breathers so that the oily gunk doesn't go into the intake which has got to improve the way the bike runs. Has anyone else done this? I've seen a little breather filter with 2 intakes that could be plumbed into the two breather pipes and there's enough room behind the standard cover to hide it so I'm sure it's do-able, just wondering if anyone's done this and if it's actually worth doing?

i had the oil misting problem also on my WG with a SE AC. I just leave the oil level about 1/2 way down on the dipstick, and this has fixed it. Might also look at a AN BS air cleaner the venting is deeper inside the backing plate and less likely to get into the AC housing. I have the AN on my Ultra and have no misting problems. Reducing the oil level is the most common fix to this common problem. Also check to see if your vent hoses/plastic tubes in the SE AChave a good connection.

I don't think the breathers going into the intake is causing me a problem, I'm not sure how I'd know if it was. I'm just trying to make something better than it currently is.

when i used to build race cars, venting the engine thru the intake/carb in fact increased a bit of horsepower. it creates a negative vacuum in the crankcase versus just a breather like was done in olden times (which you are describing). IMHO, I wouldn't use a just a filter breather system unless you have some serious misting or blow-by problems that you're not willing to spend the $ to fix. The breather system as designed works well and i wouldn't recommend messing with it unless it is broke, and there are other ways to take care of a misting problem, which apparently you don't have. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

You could route the breather tubesto a separate filter and bypass the intake altogether. However, your current set up is not significantly altering the way your bike runs, if at all.
