Based on Progressive's website, the 12" shocks are the same as stock length. Therefore, the 11" shocks will lower the rear end by 1". If that's what you're looking for, based on popular consensus, these shocks are far superior to the stockers. I haven't yet done anything with mine, so i don't know by personal experience, but i do plan to upgrade to the 12" variety when my stockers wear out. Search around on this forum and you'll see many satisfied customers!

If you want the lower stifferride, fine. I on the other hand wanted a softer ride for the long hauls so I put on the 1/2" longer than stock ones and now have 75k comfortable miles on my 02 wide glide. They made 90% of the bumps go away, especially 2 up---jack

Is the little woman over 225 lbs? Thats the recommended load for the heavy duties. Will it affect the magical and mystical rake and trail numbers? My guess is no, as the wheelbase is the same and the forks are too. But I thought I saw that it could, if you lowered the back. Any expert opinions out there?

The model in the link are the "heavy duty" ones, which are for riders in excess of 225lbs. Go with the standard for a lighter rider. You can control the stiffness of these. I buddy of mine put the standard 11" on his wife's 1200C, and she said she couldn't feel any of the bumps. She used to tip-toe at a stop, and now is flat-footed with a little bend at the knees. She claims that so far, it was the best thing they have put on the scoot, and trust me, they have put alot of stuff on there.

just thinking she get the heavy duty shocks just in case she decides to go on a road trip and packs a lot of stuff in her saddle bags so her bike doesent scrape the ground.

im also gonna do the front forks.
