Do a "Oil Cooler" search on here, you will get alot threads on this topic. I'm getting the HD one put on my bike this week, anything to help cool the engine in a more efficent manneris a good thing in my opinion.

One thing I know that it does, it makes your wallet thinner

Bottom line if you reallyneeded it, they would have came with it.

Its all about preference. As for me I'd rather put it towards something else.

Good Luck

Very few places hotter than where I ride. It's not necessary, but it's your decision and your money.

Really? You really think HD would add something free that they can sell to you later?

I put oil cooler on my 06 Street Bob this year when they made it compatable with the engine guard. It has made a difference on my bike as I ride to and from work everyday and on other rides here in AZ. Last year in the 110 heat, my bike would get so hot in traffic, it would really start chugging to cool down and to point I was ready to shut off, haven't had that happen this summer as of yet. I bought mine online through Chicago Harley Davidson ( www.chicagoharley.com ) as they sell for 20% off list, no sales tax and got mine for $250.00 shipped to house. Hope this helps.

An oil cooler still needs air flow to cool the oil...I run into heat issues in traffic when I'm not moving fast...No air to the fins no cooling...no air to the oil cooler no cooling + less coin in your pocket

Been considering this mod myself. All of the above posts have merit IMHO but I suppose its up to the individual owner and your riding conditions.
I am considering the horn relocater (to the front of the downtubes) and putting that ugly a$$ cooler inside a "scoop" or housing or something to kind of hide it and mounting it in the area where the horn used to be. Havent decided what kind of "ram air" intake or cover to possibly use. Plus I dont want my scoot to look "too symetrical" like alot of the metrics[sm=shootshoot.gif] look.

Yep, more leaks if you don't glue the gasket to the adapter and torque the crap out of the new fiiter adapter fitting. I use 3m "77" on all my gaskets and it works great.

Just have the engine warm when you peel 'em off after they have been glued and you will have no problems.
