It's usually above 100 degrees in the summer & so dusty, do I need to switch to special oil weight like 10W60

A sytheic 20W-50 would still most likely be ok. If you can find a 20W-60 that would be great. AMS makes a straight 60 weight would be good in very hot conditions. As for the dust, I would change the oil and filter often.

Check your owners manuel, it tells what oil for what tempature.

I ride in a dusty climate that's very hot as well. I've been using 15-50 Mobil 1 for years.

have you thought about adding an oil cooler. i run a jagg on the left downtube with an oil filter adapter that has a built in thermostat that won't open until the oil is 180 degrees. also run M1 20/50 V-Twin. a little more pricey then the M1 15/50, just the warm and fuzzy that the syn oil will take the temps. (worked around military jet engines for 20+ years and nothing but synthetic).
