Default Larger fuel tanks

Can fuel tanks with a larger fuel capacity be swapped onto a 2015 FXDL?

If so, what, other than the tanks, do I need to make the swap?

EFI tank to EFI tank...easy swap, EFI to a carb tank, still doable but more involved...

anything can be made to fit, all depends on your skill set and pocket book.

look for an EFI tank, it will make life easier...

You will probably also have to watch whether the tank has the speedo on it or not, along with what @crusader1xxx said. Otherwise, EFI tank can be replaced by another EFI tank, but if you try to change to a Touring tank, you might have other issues with gas cap, fuel pump, fuel gauge, etc., along with moving your speedo to the handlebars. As said before, it all depends on time, skills, and budget.

You've got a 5 gal tank now. I think HD has 6 gal tanks on touring. That's only 1 single measley gallon. To do all this for 1 gallon seems counter productive. Now, if someone/anyone made a 15 gallon tank, then that might be worth the expense incurred.
Now, if you're doing this just to tinker, then sounds great. Have at it!

I've seen guys add a second tank on their luggage racks to get nearly double the fuel capacity. You might consider that option instead. It would probably be cheaper, too.
Here's one example:
