Default Another Vote for Jackyl's Tank Lift

Purchased Jackyl's 2" Tank Lift a few weeks ago but hadn't had the chance to install ituntil this morning and to be honest, I wasn't in any hurry as I wasn't sure how lifting my tank would look and fit in with the way my bike looked. Basically, I'm pretty particular as to what I put on my bikes - whatever I put on my bikes needs to look good, be functional and fit the look I'm trying to achieve so generally a lot of thought goes into each piece before it gets purchased and installed.

When I got done with installing the tank lift I was more than surprised with the change in appearance the lift made. Besides opening up the engine area to view it made the lines of the bike flow much better. Even my wife, who's been a pretty harsh critic of some of the things I do to my bikes, thought it looked great.

So it seems I have to get in line with all the others who have commented on this product and Jackyl - well made, quality product, easy to install, great service from Jackyland a part that really enhances the look of your bike.

Is it me or does it seem like the wind is deflected off your face some now that the tank is lifted? Seems like it to me anyway.

To tell you the truth I couldn't tell the difference. Will keep it in mind in the AM when I ride to work.

does it require the purchase of any extra parts to account for the lift? and how easy and quick is the install? you mind me asking how much the kit cost you?

it looks great. i love the fact that you can see the engine now.

Everything comes with the lift. It took me about 10 mins to do mine.

1. take off seat.
2. Loosen rear tank mount
3. Take off front mount bolt.
4. Lift tank and insert lift and lower bolt
5. Insert top bolt.
6. Torque all three bolts down
7. remount seat
8. Step back and admire the new look.

I recommend that you do this when the tank is mostly empty. I did it with an almost full tank and boy was it heavy. Also make sure that all metal around your waist is covered. This encludes the rivets on jeans. I learned this working on my Camaro a long time ago.
