REAR BRAKE SPONGY AND POOR FXDC 2007
Dear friends,
This is a new item to me that I didn't expect. My rear brake pedal has a far too long travel and feels spongy. The rear brake thus is not performing as it should. Anything I should be looking for? The bike is brand new, but would not like to take it to the dealer without some fair background on the problem.

Hello Spanish Flyer;
You may have a leak in the break system. It may not have lost any brake fluid, but it may have drawn in a little air, any air in the system will result in a spongy pedal or lever. It is a 2007 so it should be covered by warranty. Get the bike in and get it checked, motorcycle brakes are good at best, bad brakes will cause a rider serious problems. Get it checked out.
Good luck with it.

Thanks Arcane, I believe that you are right, the bike has no leaks, but probably it does have air in the hydraulic system. I just wanted to make sure it was not a standard issue. My next step is visit the dealer. It was however my brother with a FLHT who told me that this problem was an old issue on all Dynas? (he had one for 14 years).Go figure now
