Default Rear brake caliper/vertical or up and down movement.

2016 wide glide. Cleaning the spokes (no fun at all)and found the rear caliper has vertical movement. Very strange,so I checked the forum and just got back from dealer .apparently designed that way. If anyone has found a repair please let me know. Thanks. Ride safe.

It's designed that way and there is supposed to be some vertical movement. No repair needed.

I just find it strange. Most bikes have fixed calipers that slide in and out. I get that, centering the caliper on rotor to acquire even pad wear. Just don't see the reasoning behind this. Thanks for the reply.
