Default Rear Brake Assembly

Does the rear clevis pin of the brake lever press out of the brake lever? I want to get the lever powder coated and want to remove the rear rod. I tried to tap/press it out and it will not budge.

Why don't you just disconnect the rod at the lever?

I disconnected the rod from the master cylinder & then removed the brake lever. I cannot drive out the clevis pin that attaches the rod to the brake pedal.

On my '010 FB with mids that clevis pin is retained by a round wire "coil" similar to a small key ring. Remove the coil and the cp slides right out of the pedal assembly. Possible yours is semi-rusted in place?

Yeah, just remove the retention ring on the inside of the lever from the pin and you should be able to take out the pin.

"Round wire "coil"" was removed. Must be held in by "semi-rusting". Will hit it w/ penetrating oil for 24 hrs. followed w/ gentle hits w/ a BFH.
