Default Packin Blaque's Bags

Gentlemen,

I've acquired some slanted throw over saddle bags for my 2013 Street Bob. I had guards on there, but the bags didn't fit/looked terrible with them on (See pictures of them with and without the guards below). I know many say to use them, but I want to find a safe way to secure the bags without them. Many have also said not to secure them to the swing arm, but I'm thinking that might be the best option. I know there are other threads with the same question, but none describing good options, just opinions on using them or not.

The bags themselves have a leather string hanging down from the center of the bags. I'm thinking of either replacing them with zip ties and cutting the ends off. Can you all take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think the best way would be? They have a hard inner wall and don't look like they'll move too much if secure. My only concern is making sure they are safe. Damaging the bags isn't a big concern for me.

I vote zip ties; purely on ascetic value. As I have no experience with those type of bags.

You could use a mount like the Willie and Max brackets and bolt them to the fender rail and just not use the yoke.
You will have to drill four holes in each bag though. The bags are held to the brackets with four bolts, the top two mount where your old support brackets did on the fender rail. Pic below;

Maybe these would work. Looks like they wouldn't hold bags out so far.
