Default HD Bags On The Street Bob

I've been wanting to put bags on the Dyna forever but just couldn't get past the cost of the bags, tail light - license plate relocation, and the fact that I don't own a lift. So it all started a couple weeks ago when I took a chance on some used HD leather covered hard bags I found on Facebook of all places. I took a chance and ordered them for $300. Then I ordered the Great Bike Gear relocate kit. I was pleasantly surprised when the bags arrived in pretty good shape.

This morning I went to Harbor Freight and bought the $89 lift and modded it to lift the Dyna. Once the mod was done, it still didn't quite slide under the bike by myself but with the help of my wife it worked. Off to work I went. It was going pretty smoothly until I didn't put the tail light wires back in the plug in the correct location. I second guessed myself, but eventually figured it out. Next, I discovered that HD doesn't have any slack in the tail light wire so moving the tail lights back a few inches was tough to get everything plugged back in.

The last step was using my existing fender backing and getting fasteners the right length. One hardware store trip later and all was good. Anyway, I'm happy with how they turned out and look on my Street Bob.

Looks great! BTW, how do you like those foot pegs? Joker Machine?

Thanks! Yes, Joker Machine. I really dig them and have never seen any like them around here. If I ever mount my passenger peg mounts, I will go Joker Machine again. Good quality.

Great Bike Gear is where I got the relocate kit. I did the black license plate frame with LED light and it looks really clean.

I'd love to get my hands on a set of those bags but I have yet to find a place to buy a set.

I’ve been watching eBay for a while. You’ll see them come up here and there and sell pretty quick. $500 seems to be the going rate.
