maximum rear tire size on a 99 Wide Glide
The rear tire on my WG needs to be replaced. It is a 99 model with a 130 on it now. Is there any way I can go up to a 150 maybe? Does anyone know the biggest I can go on that same rim on that same model?

Butcher, I used to runa 130 on my wide glide. When time cameto replace it, a local shop hereadvised me that the widest I could go on a stock rim without modifications was a 150. So I had it changed to a Metzeler ME880 150 x 80 x 16 tire. It runs great and and really looks good on the rear! Here's a photo of the back of my '01 FXDWG sporting a150 Metz.

Thanks for the "above and beyond" response. I think that tire really makes the rear of the bike look totally different (good). I am going to go ahead with the larger rear tire on that rim if you say it rides so much better and doesn't rub, etc.

Butcher, was glad glad to be of help. The 150 doesnt rub anywhere though the mounting should be done carefully because the tire really comes very close to the stock fender. Other than that, there's nothing to worry about. Welcome to the Philippines!

With your 3" rim the only thing I could find was a 150. Metzler has several of them in the catalog.
