Mine were nice, shiney, new Big Shot Staggered. I took some metal sand paper to them, some rubbing alcohol to clean 'em, then spray painted with high-temp BBQ paint. (4-5 coats) 1 hour later and I saved the 200 bucks I would of spent for the ceramic coating.....

BBQ paint works great... fyi keep break cleaner away from it. sprayed alil to much filter oil in my filter and dripped on cam casing, went to clean it off i sprayed brake cleaner on it for less then a minute to break away the oil and the overspray jacked up paint on the pipes. now i gotta repaint but with that paint a yearly repaint seems like it needs it.

i know a couple of manufacturers make black exhausts: d & d makes the fat cats in black, bassani makes the road rage in black, and rb racing makes their lsr exhausts in black ceramic coated - just to name a few. I have a set of black ceramic rb racing on a fltr that is being slowed blacked out.

Black Thunderheader looks allright though many have complained about the durability of the finish after a year mine are still looking good.Truth be told if I had it to do over again I'd strip and paint the stock headers or maybe the heat shields and either pick up some black slip-ons or drill out the stock cans and call it a day.
