I have not ever had a carb let me dwn.
If as in the old days a float stuck it was a beside the road EZ fix.
If an FI bike gets stuck its done.
Over.
towed.
No fixing the toad on the side of the road.
Next, i don't have any more maintenance with a carb then an EFI unt would be
.I run AFR meter so if I change anything and need to fatten up or slim dwn, I didn't need the dyno either
.All self-contained.

Keep it clean.
Use good fuel.
Learn how it works.
Stay away from gimmicks and be wary of un-reversible modifications you read online.
If you get the itch to fiddle, do one thing at a time and evaluate it before doing something else. Always have a baseline that works you can go back to.
Sometimes too much is too much.
Listen to your engine, it will tell you what it wants. Don’t argue with it.

Living in FL riding year round quite happy with my carbed 05 FXD have had it up as high as the top of Mount Mitchell and thehigher elevations in the Ozarks with no worries .. In the Rockies might be a different story but have a good EFI Bike and it's far more comfortable as well if going to Road Trip it that far but for the Southeast love my FXD .. CV Carbs are not that hard to learn or maintain and have a lot of years at it .. Only thing have run into lately looks like will have to replace my Intake Seals as I know it's jetted to perfection but showing signs of being lean .. But being a 14 year old Bike should be doing that anyway as have no plans of parting with it ..
