I have a 2015 fxdb that I’m planning on installing Bassini 2 into 1 Road Rage exhaust and I need to know if I should buy the ‘crush’ gaskets for these pipes?
I’ve already installed a Screaming Eagle air filter and just finished installing a Dynojet Power Vision.
Any other things I need to know before I start on my winter project?
Always a good idea to install new gaskets. When I Installed my road rage3 I tried the screamin eagle gaskets and kept a leak. Tried 2 sets. For some reason went to the flat standard gaskets and havent had a problem since.
Stock ones. I have used 3 sets when removing and reinstalling my RR3 for various projects. Never a leak. It is what Bassani says to use on their exhausts.
supertrapp calls for the standard ones, is what I used, no leaks, however the supertrapp has a different flange than the stock so did not tighten to the torque specs in the shop manual, just went by feel.
I think installing new ones every time you remove the exhaust is very extreme I lost count how many times I’ve removed my exhaust for maintenance and odd ends. No leaks whatsoever I would change them when installing a different pipe though. Bassani recommends taper gaskets btw
