I'm very sorry to hear this, HB. It's really such an awful thing to go through. I'm sure you gave him a wonderful life, so don't forget that. And I'm sure he gave you an awful lot too, for 17 years. You were both fortunate and lucky to have each other.

Its a tuff thing, loosing a dog. When you're ready get another, not to take his place but to honor his memory.
17 yrs is a good run for a dog. You must have been doing something right.

Yep, double whammy. Lost Tora, Parker's older sister two months ago. Parker died of a broken heart.

Very sorry for your loss. Sounds like you really loved your dogs. Do yourself a favor and get another set of dogs. It will give you something to dump your grief into, and as you know, dogs help you get through emotionally difficult times. The new dogs will never be replacements, and your memories of Tora & Parker will not be eroded by the new dogs. Eventually, you will wonder how you made it this far in life without these 'new' dogs.
