I also looked at them when I ordered my Bassani...

Stock flange are already stainless, I Wonder how much can they be polished.
I put ARP 12pt SS nuts on them.

CG, just curious, why do you shoose the 6 point nuts ?
I though that only the 12pt and "small flange" 6pt were 300 series, not those ?

The nuts are ARP# 400-8614 (6pt, 3/8" hex, .612" flange) which are made from "ARP Stainless 300". That's their trade name for 17-4PH. It's supposedly a proprietary alloy, but the specs I've been able to turn up are the same as 17-4PH.

I chose the 6pt just in case I ever have to get an open end wrench on them. Access to the rear nuts can be a hassle and I wanted to make it as easy as possible.

1/4" drive long extension with a swivel joint works wonders on exhaust flange nuts, everything's small enough it fits right in.

Yeah, that's how I normally handle them when I have my tools available. Was just trying to think ahead in case I ever had a "situation" away from home.

Out of curiosity, I just checked both the stock flanges (OE, as far as I know) and the new ones, as well as the ARP hardware, with a neodymium magnet.

The stock flanges are very magnetic. The Evolution flanges are NOT. Neither is the ARP hardware.

For what it's worth.

Hey guys, educate me. What’s the benefit of these, vs. oem. Is it just “bling” or is there another reason?

Very strange because mine (OE Flanges) are not ! Tested with the fridge magnet/beer opener !
Maybe it's year dependant for the stainless ? My OE TB flange are in the same material also.

I agree. I'm gonna be kinda bummed if the new stock flanges are stainless.* I'm not concerned about bling.

My 99 flanges are a little rusty and warped. It's entirely possible MoCo made improvements over the last 20 years.

There is "Good Bling" and "Bad Bling..."

Good Bling: Adds pleasing aesthetics without compromising any functionality or adding unnecessary weight, and often actually increases functionality and/or durability, and possibly even reduces weight

Bad Bling: Stupid doodads that maaaybe somebody thought looked good at some point, but add no functional purpose and often add weight, clutter, clatter, visual noise, and overall stooopidness
