Default 180 Rear tire and Hogrida Laylo on Low Rider

I have my own tire changing and wheel balancing equipment at home and I’ve been wanting to fit the wider tire in my Low Rider for a while. Finally got around to it today. I hated to replace a good tire at 4,000 miles but it went for a good cause.

The new new tire is a Scorcher 31 in 180/60B17. No issues with fitment. 2016 FXDLI.

I think a 180 is the biggest tire one could go with out sacrificing handling. I drove a newer break out with the 200 tire. It felt like herding a cow around corners compared to my wide glide!!

It’s a Willie & Max Softail swing arm bag.

Its adapted to my Dyna with Dead Creek Cycles adapter kit.

I upped the size on my rear tire to a 180/60B17 as well, although I opted for the Pirelli Night Dragon. Fits fine and handling is great.

I'm running a 200 50 17 and it feels much better than the 160

So your comparing a dyna with a soft tai breakout?

yes, I look at the wide glide and break out as good comparison to comment on going with a fatter rear tire. Anything with a rear tire greater than a 180 seems more resistant to lean in my experience. maybe i just needed to get used to it . I like the fatter tire look but a 180 is good enough for me .

Running a 200 is that on a stock rim or did you need to upgrade to a wider wheel.
Really like the look of the wider tire and would like to go up to the 200 but just dont know how wide you can go on the stock wheel.

Do you have a rear shot of it.
