Dealers mentality
Ok this is my take on numerous Harley dealers, they are coming off a run of high demand and scant inventory, that is no longer the case, yet some dealers continue to charge MSRP+ because they can. I personally don't trust a business that needs to charge more than MSRP when supply is high, either greedy or poor operating procedures.

RE: Dealers mentality
Harley dealers have had it so good for so long thatmany of themhave forgotten (or never knew) how to behave in a truly competitive retailsetting. They have become lazy, arrogant, and uncaring.
It's no defense, but the same thing happens to a lot of retailersin a similar setting. It's just natural to not give a $hit about any particular customer if you've got a hundred other ones waiting in line begging you to sell to them.
The true jewels are the Harley dealers who have given good customer service even when they didn't have to. The others are about to learn the meaning of the old Avis car rental slogan, "We're #2, we try harder."
