'18 Fat Bob rear Foot peg mount relocation
Hi everyone,
The '18 Fat Bob is my first Harley and I love it! Coming from BMW, Triumph and crotch rockets before that, I'm still learning this bike after 140 miles.
I just installed the VH Short Shots on my Fat Bob and have been struggling to figure out a couple of things regarding the rear foot peg mounts.
1. Can't remove the mounts even with an impact drill. My buddy suggests either an airgun or it might need heat due to locktite?
2. Even if I get the mounts off the bike, and the other from the stock exhaust bracket which is now off the bike, where can i place them? Is the hole with the plastic cover suitable with the stock bolts?
3. Will my bike be running too lean or rich with just the SS pipes added? Wondering if I will need to get it tuned or a power commander to correct the air/fuel mix.
Thanks in advance!
Mark

2. From a performance standpoint, you have installed quite possibly the worst choice available for an exhaust on your bike.
3. It's most likely a little locktite messing with you.
I hope this helps, there are a few things here you should read before removing your pegs.

He's right, a 2-1 system creates back pressure which results in power/torque. Longer pipes will also have this effect. You've effectively gone in the opposite direction with these. You can read this page for a way better explanation than I could ever provide:

Hope that helps explain it. Seems silly to me to pay extra for a 114, then rob it of power. Some just want a loud bike, and that's cool too. Nothing wrong with that. But if that wasn't your intention, then yeah, I'd do some research before spending that kind of money.
