Your safe bet is to look in the owner's manual. If he does not have one, he can put the VIN number in at the Harley Motor's site and get it. My service manual says 3 quarts.

Engine oil? 2.5 qt. Does he have an oil cooler or an oil filter relocation kit? If so, approx. 3 qt. If he is a idiot (lol) and forgets to put the drain plug back in, 4 qts.
