Hi guys

Went for a play in the hills the other week. Averaged 58 MPG (imperial, that is.....)

Well impressed - more than I thought I'd ever get...

I used the fuelpak for a few hundred miles. I was getting around 40 but that was mostly city driving. I've since switched to the Tmax and now I'm getting around 37. I also have to admit I'm a little on the aggressive side. I would guess I'd probably get into the low 40's if I rode on the freeway in 6th gear.

So, why on Earth do our figures differ so greatly - between 35 and 58 mpg, even on similar specc'd bikes. Wow!

Surely it's not only down to the (small) difference in size between the US gallon and the Imperial one?

The difference is probably in riding styles and highway vs. city.
