Default Longer Shocks for 2011 Fat Bob

I'm looking to get 14" shocks for my 2011 FXDF for ground clearance purposes, and I want to go with the best I can afford. After reading several threads, a common theme is that if you go mid-range you'll eventually be upgrading. The RacingBros Bazooka piggyback shocks are on sale right now in a few places, and are about as much as I would want to spend. By all accounts, money spent on good shocks is never regretted, so I'm willing to reach up a bit to something that good. What makes a piggyback shock so much better and more expensive than the next one down?

Basically these https://www.racingbros.com/en/products/detail/16 versus these https://www.racingbros.com/en/products/detail/17

I'm waiting to hear back from the company as to why that piggyback doesn't fit FXDF, though, and in the meantime was wondering if anyone here knows, or did a workaround. They fit all other dynas except FXDF, and I can't figure out why, as I mentioned here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...l#post17420082

The non-piggback doesn't list that exemption, so maybe it's the cannister itself that doesn't clear something?

Bump.
RacingBros hasn't replied to my email yet. Any input is greatly appreciated.

IMO going to a 14" shock is way too much. I don't know what kind of boulders you are riding over or how much off roading you do. I went with a .6" over on my shocks and it took care of most of the scraping of parts that I had with the stockers. I could probably have gone to 1" longer, but I don't ride as aggressively as I did 50 years ago.
