These pictures are worth a thousand words! Not that the Sputhe instructions were incorrect, but definitely incomplete w/o a diagram or picture.

From: My home is with the hills and trees around me. My ceiling holds the moon and stars above.

Default My 2 cents.

I've got the BBC FXR front mount. It's great but I don't like his company's history of screwing over customer's (seriously..google the company)
Plus you can buy one exactly like it from chopperhauss for less out your pocket.

I've got the 06-17 Dyna Chopperhauss front and 95-17 version 2 rear mount.
I could never quite get them to work without tons of contact between the rear mount and the frame.

Currently I run sputhe stabilizers combined with the factory stock mounts and I really couldn't be happier.
Sputhe makes quality parts.

Sorry in advanced if Im hijacking this thread right now...

Has anyone had trouble with sputhe stabilizers, especially the rear? I rode with front sputhe installed for a month and it was great. Had to wait a month to get the rear motor mount, thats why the front was installed first. After replacing rear motor mount and installed rear sputhe, my rear brake startet to vibrate when braking hard. I mean hard braking, right before locking the rear wheel. I can feel that the vibration is coming from the engine through the motor mount and sputhe stabilizer and the caliper and to the brake pedal, it has the same "engine rhythm". When I turn off the engine while the bike is still moving, no vibration while braking, so Im certain it comes from the engine. It should not be like that...right?

Should these to bolts go all the way out and hit the "frame wall" down there? I mean, "lock it in place"...

EDIT
From the instruction:
10. Snug the ¼” screws against the frame and tighten the jam nuts.

I have tried both loose and tight, same vibration

Mine are tight. While I do feel engine vibes in my pegs, It's not quite as you describe. But to be fair, I almost never use any rear brake above parking lot speeds so I'm not sure whether the same thing would happen...

Try when you have a chance
Its not the pegs that I feel the vibes, its when Im pressing the brake pedal hard enough and not lock the rear

Sounds like alignment may need attention. Since the stabilizers lock the drivetrain into a plane, I can see a vertical misalignment causing some vibrations. 'Course, I could be way off.

I have a Predator up front so I can't speak to your exact setup. That said, my brakes (not stock...at all) don't induce any vibration or unexpected noise.

With you on the bike and "perfectly" upright, I think the links should fairly free to twist on the ***** and the jugs should be perfectly in line (vertically) with the neck. Theoretically, the swingarm should perpendicular to the neck, but with manufacturing tolerance, you may have to split the difference.

Just speculating here, but a good alignment can only improve handling even if the vibes don't change.

When only having the front stabilizer, no bad vibes at all. So in my mind, it has to do something with the rear. I thought first it was the rear brake rotor because I changed to lyndall and their most aggressive pads, but turning of the engine and brake tested, no vibes. You are telling something there, it might be the vertical movement! Need to have it checked. I also have 14" shocks and chain drive, but that shouldnt affect the vibes? Yes, rear sputhe is for the longer shocks

Chris, I never really thought of this before, but your comment about alignment made me think (and you know I love aligning my drivetrain!)... I wonder whether it would be beneficial to fully loosen the two rear Sputhe jam nuts during the alignment procedure. I'll try that when I install the Kinetic Structures front mount soon. I typically only loosen the center bolt on the Predator.

Is the Sputhe mount touching the brake line or switch? I have the Predator front and Sputhe rear and do not have any braking issues, but I did have to move the brake line to keep it from interfering with the mount.

Here's a picture I stole from someone else...
