Frame Protection from the Chain?

Frame Protection from the Chain?
Hey guys, my 1997 Dyna Wide Glide came to me with a previously applied chain conversion.
My question for those familiar with this conversion is...should there be some sort of protection for the swing arm and/or that lower piece below the passenger foot peg?
Especially the lower one. It seems it would catch quite a bit of rub from the chain.
TIA

Are you running Tall shocks?
Belts don't rub...What's changed? (besides chain and sprockets)

There are no marks that it ever rubbed, but I got it in non-running condition so I don't know if something was removed.
The suspension is stock, and as far as I can tell the bike is bone stock other than the chain conversion.
