Default Frame Protection from the Chain?

Hey guys, my 1997 Dyna Wide Glide came to me with a previously applied chain conversion.

My question for those familiar with this conversion is...should there be some sort of protection for the swing arm and/or that lower piece below the passenger foot peg?

Especially the lower one. It seems it would catch quite a bit of rub from the chain.

TIA

Swap back to a belt IMO unless it's got some serious engine work done and/ or you stunt ride it. Chain drives are just more maintenance and headache on these bikes. But I know bung king sells a chain slider for '06 and up bikes, not sure about the older ones like yours.

Was it rubbing when you got it?

Are you running Tall shocks?

Belts don't rub...What's changed? (besides chain and sprockets)

This is a good point, and I should have mentioned it.

There are no marks that it ever rubbed, but I got it in non-running condition so I don't know if something was removed.

The suspension is stock, and as far as I can tell the bike is bone stock other than the chain conversion.

Mine doesn't rub anywhere and I don't have sliders. I also don't have that passenger peg bracket anymore.

There's plenty of problems/issues that will come up as it is, don't start making some up...just because (maybe)

Haha, solid advice I plan to try hard to follow. Thanks for it.

Guess I'm just nervous because it's my first Harley.
