Default 2015 lowrider s can’t get clutch cable threaded in

What is the thread size for the trans side cover? Tried for probably 30-45mins last night and could not get it. Threads on both look just fine. I was thinking of runnking a tap through to make sure it’s good to go. Any suggestions?

Are you saying you're having a problem screwing in the cable into the trans side cover? Have /are you trying to do this with the cover off the bike? I took my cover when I had to remove the cable end and reinstalling was a PIA but go real slow. Usually you can turn the threaded end CCW real slow to feel the thread, then turn CW and catch the thread. Sorry don't know the thread size.

Been there & done that...
Here's how I managed to get in the clutch cable without any problems:

1. I hung the clutch cable from the ceiling in my garage using a string
2. Sat underneath it with the clutch release cover between my knees
3. Grabbed the threaded end of the clutch cable, inserted the cable end into the threaded hole and positioned the cable in line with the cover
4. Once the two threaded parts got together, I first slowly turned the cable counter clockwise until I felt the threads falling together
5. From that point I slowly turned the cable's threaded end clockwise. When you don't feel any resistance you're OK!

The cable thread is at an angle. It's angled outward. I just trashed a cover fooling with the cover/thread.

It’s 5/16-24 for anyone else that might need to know. I’m headed to the store to get a tap while my buddy keeps working on the bike. Thanks for the tips.

Probably the first outside threads are shot. In order to maintain the right thread angle you should try to retap the cover thread working from the inside out if possible.

You’re threatening it in to the cover with the lever side disconnected right?

So... I totally jacked the outermost threads when removing the cable by not spinning off the cover vs wrenching out the cable via the 9/16 hex end. Oops....

Ran a 5/16-24 tap into it and got it threaded right away. My buddy must have buggered the side cover up a little bit.
