Default Alek with Fat Bob Questions

I'm Alek with a 2009 Fat Bob I just purchased and new to the forum. Want to do the forks as they've probably never been done plus I'll probably replace the seals while I have them apart. Do I need any special tools for this besides a fork seal driver? What fork oil viscosity do you recommend for decent damping on this bike? I'm about 180lb with gear. Also is there a shim stack in there I can tweak? Also anyone have a manual and can tell me what air gap to use?

Do yourself a favor and get a manual. It will be worth it.

this ^

never used a fork seal driver a 2” diameter pvc pipe with a mallet always did the trick. No shim stack in stock forks as the design is antiquated most will run screaming eagle heavy weight oil as the cheapest alternative to better fork damping.
Youll also need a long 12mm Allen socket to access the drain bolt

What do you mean by you want to "do" the forks? Are your fork seals leaking?
If not, don't fix em if they're not broke. Just drain them and put in fresh oil. I would start with the stock viscosity and see how you like it. You can always go to the next weight up.
