Default Turn Signal relocation

Hello riders. I am looking to add a fairing to my 99 FXD. Therefore, I must relocate the turn signals. According to a spec sheet, my front forks are 49mm. I have found a kit that has 39mm brackets and claims they will fit my bike. Is this true? Is this possible? Thank you in advance.

Why don`t you simply call the company who makes/sells the fairing and ask them?

No, if you have 49mm forks you need 49mm clamps.
When will winter end?

I don't think you have 49 mm forks on a bike that old unless they were put on later. Don't know what spec sheet you read but there is a way to know for sure- measure one with a caliper.

Unless somebody swapped in a later model (06+) front end, a 99 would have either 39 or 41mm tubes. It seems unlikely a good clamp would accomodate both (or all three).

I got to digging around and found other spec's;
The '99 FXDX's handling received favorable reviews from our testers, so we were elated when we discovered the biggest changes to the Sport were directly related to its back-road manners. The front suspension was changed from a nonadjustable unit to a fully adjustable, cartridge-type 39mm fork similar to those found in sportbikes.
So you better find a friend with or go buy even a cheap dial caliper and measure.
Like cggorman, I think it should have 39's

You could always move them here. I used the existing wire.

The Dyna got the 49mm forks in 06. A 99 Dyna would have 41mm forks.
