HD Detachable Sideplates/Sissy Bar/Pad/Luggage Rack Question
Can anyone tell me if the HD detachable sideplates for FXDF are compatible with an aftermarket sissy bar, such as Khrome Werks or Drag Specialties?
And if they are, would I be able to use the HD Custom Tapered Sport Luggage Rack with these pieces?
Third question is, how do I match a decent backrest pad to a tapered round sissy bar such as the one pictured above, or this one here:
and can anyone recommend one that for sure fits?
Lots of questions, but I've scoured the internet the past month and can't find clear cut answers, and this **** ain't cheap. I'd like to be certain before I start ordering parts. Thanks!

I don't know if those parts will play well together but there are companies that make all that stuff. Some of it as you have discovered it quite expensive and others are affordable. I went with Ginz Choppers for my bike. They make a similar looking sissy bar with detachable plates and a luggage rack. They also offer pads for their bars of various sizes and styles. They are a bit pricey but I fell it was worth it.
As for a pad to fit a random bar. I made my own backing out of high density plastic and then sent it out to Sick Saddles to have them attach a pad and cover. They made my seat so it matched perfectly. You could probably find a local upholsterer to do something similar.

This is what I made my backing out of
Trimmed it to the size I wanted and figured out how to mount it.
This is the end result

Attachment 620183
I don't have a luggage rack but Ginz does have options for my bar.

Damn, that thing is a skyscraper. Is that the hell bent or the rolling hell bar? I don't need anything that tall, I'm wondering if 15" might do the job. I just need something for the wife to lean back on, that I can also use to hang a bag. Thanks for the suggestion on Ginz, I'm browsing their site right now.
