They would be completely replacing my tank. They will give you some line like;it will take up to 12 weeks for a new painted tank to come from H-D. That is what H-D suggests but, I had to replace a tank on my otherbike and ordered it from H-D and it came in about a one week.

I agree with EVERYONE here....... You guys dented it, you guys BOUGHT it! New tank and NO "We'll fix it crap" Its like anything else, if I took my car to a dealer and they dent a fender, I sure as heck dont want them putting bondo in it.... Make them make it right and install or give you a new tank and then drag your old tank behind the bike on a 50 foot rope on your way back to them to return the one they "fixed"

Nothing wrong with a little bondo. A professional restro on a car has a lot of it. I say let them have it for as long as it takes to do it right and give you a loner in the mean time. If they wont give you a loner then figure out your monthly payment divided by 31 days and charge them for everyday they have it.

cars have plastic filler on them from the factory sometimes, so a little filler done properly is not a big deal
