Advice and opinions on buying a bike

Something to consider; it's the first year of the new everything.
First year means it hasn't been real world tested all that much. Which usually means there are a whole lot of bugs that need fixing. How many times have you heard, "well the old ones where bad and had that problem, they fixed it a couple years ago" ?
The Twin Cam has got close to 20 years behind it, and the 110 on the FXDLS is a thing of pure beauty. In my honest opinion they used that bike as a proper farewell to the Dyna and did everything they could with one. I remember them pricing out the options vs a standard Lowrider and the savings where in the several thousand and you still didn't get cruise control.
Ride the both but remember where you're getting your information from. The dealer is looking to make a deal and what he has to trade are new bikes he's been told to push that are worth more money, and other bikes that won't bring as much money in. Course they will be bias as to what is "better". And we can argue stats and torque charts and what not all day, but in the end it always comes down to the exact same thing:
Ride it and see.
My L-S is the very definition of everything I love about riding and I'm glad I bought it when I had the chance.
Don't listen to the dealer. Don't listen to us. No one else's opinion matters. There is nothing risked with a Dyna, probably less than an M8 bike, but so what. What moves you?
Find yourself a good salesman too. I got passed around a bit but in the end the guy I ended up buying one from wasn't looking to sell me a bike, he was just looking to help me make a choice but not push that choice. I heard fear tactics left and right, pushes to spend more money on this or that, constant "upgrading". Guy I bought it from just answered my questions and let me ride anything I wanted to. Took about half a dozen salemen till I found him.
And once you know what you want start calling around and emailing. Get them to start offering you deals. You won't get one if you don't ask, just asking can mean thousands. I got $500 off the bike (and it was a next year hot model), $750 in store cash and free tires for life, and all I did was ask a few saleman, "what will you give me if I buy it from you instead of him?". They have these things to give away, just got to ask. Even if it's a brand new in demand model.

110 has some chance of having big problems... Speaking from experience and I have two of them. One did and one might... 2015 cvo street glide did at 21k the other hasn't yet it is a 2016.5 slim s with 5k. Just a FYI
Good Point .. I know 10-12 people that have the 110 on various Models, 4 have had serious Problems .. Not knocking the Engine just stating a fact ..

Its funny that anyone should be concerned about the Dyna - Look at the FXRs and how people still enjoy them and want to own a nice cherry example. Granted there are a lot more Dynas than FXRs but I doubt they are going to be any less valuable or sought after just because they aren't being built.

The jury is still out on mechanical issues for the 2018s. None have risen to the surface yet... only been a month. No reason to rush in. Besides hd said they were kick out 50 some new bike over the next few years. Waiting is looking like a good play. Its just hard to get around that stock power on the 2018 softies.
2017 dynas are still on dealer floors... wouldn't worry about parts and such. It will be a while before hd cuts support and you only have the aftermarket.... a looooong while.
a fxdl or s is still a good way to go used or new. As it gets colder. The deals should be insane. Dealer trying to get ride of used stock and 2017s dynas to get in more 2018 and the 2018.5 bike that will be rolling in. Hreat time to be in the market.
