Had the straight-through V&H slip-ons on my FXDC and it popped and banged all over the place.....have just put in the quiet baffles so will see tomorrow if that makes any difference.

Hope you drilled a 5/16" hole in the plug, Other wise If ya go to tune it ya cant get the rod up the pipe far enough. They will have to pull the baffles then drill the hole and try and reinstall them. Just a heads up... Vance & Hines should mention that in the Dir.. But they dont...

RE: straight pipes
I've got two sets of slip-ons and can tell the difference mostly at about 4-4500 rpm's between them as far as power difference but it doesn't bother me much because I don'tpush it up beyond that.
I just drilled out the baffleplugs and put some thumbscrew type bolts about an 1 1/2" in from the end of each muffler. Sounds pretty good when you get on it butis quiet enough for cruising thru town also.

But, it probably won't matter too much as I'm unlikely to be putting it on a dyno until after the warrenty expires......if at all.
