Big suckers don't stick out that far.

 

The heavy breathers give the most leg room IMO, since the elbow only comes out over the throttle body and goes forward. Nothing aft of the throttle body. However if some phobia of perceived phallic symbolism impacts your decision, the HD ventilator is as low profile as I've seen.

I personally like the heavy breather elites. I guess I'm secure enough with myself. (KIDDING!!!)

 

Depends on foot peg position and leg length. I have low rider with mid peg and elbow style is best I found. However I didn’t like look or the bend for incoming air so went with an Arlen ness inverted. It works perfectly for me. My knee barely touches the curve in the AC with legs tucked right in against tank. If legs were any longer it would not be good but works great for me. Btw I am 5’10”.

 

Mid controls is a sure fix! My old style S&S gives about 3/4" relief, here is a pic showing breathers vented to a filter:

 

Harley makes the SE Stage 1 Ventilator for pretty much this purpose. I replaced the one on my Wide Glide with this.
