Default Choppin the rear fender (pics)

I've been thinking alot lately about actually bobbing my Bob, imagine that.Anyway, I've seen a couple of nice examples here on this forum and what I'm looking for is some pics and tips.I'd like to see a couple of different fairly close up side shots so I can figure out how much I want to cut off. Also it might be helpfull if ya let me know how ya did it.I have a Dremmel and cut off wheels and the usual household tools. What I'd like to end up with is something that looks like a slightly larger version of the Nightster tail section.I already have Harleys tail light/brake light/turn signal kit installed.

I cut mine with a Sawzall and a little metal blade to make the corners.

Lay out the design you want with paint marker and cut away. The hardest part for me was relocating the rear brake assembly, but if your gonna move it to the side anyway, no worries. I have a pretty decent writeup here someplace.

The Alaska Bobber fender (not to mention the great flame job):

You can also use 1/8 inch tape to mark your line , And if you need to adjust you just pull up your tape and realign it.I used a air die grinder with a .035 thick cutting wheel to cut my fender.

sED, I feel the you have to draw a line somewhere as to how much you can chop your fender. Being that dynas fender is frame mounted, you have to pay attention to how much tire is goin to be seen.
When I did mine, I had planed on using a sidemount from the start. With the fender still on the bike, and brake light dis-assembled(depending on how much you plan on taking off) I drew a line or you could us tape and mark where you want to cut. I used a 3/8 air saw, like cutting threw butter. Your cut dosn't have to be perfect so don't get all wired out about it, just as long as its smooth and pleasing to the eye.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I think if I just tape it off straight across about 2 in past the end of the fender rail I should end up with enough fender left to mount my turn signals to the fender which would allow me to keep my easy brackets.I know saddle bags are not very bobberish but they sure are handy. Now if I can just figure out what to do with my plate.I think an axel mount might clear the bags, hmmm.
