In the end I wanted to like it and trade mine in.
In the end I'll just do a Hillside or S&S upgrade when the time comes and keep my 14.
The small tank is really the only negative I can see on the new Fat Bob. Looks like range will top out at around 150 miles for highway riding and of course less when booting it around.

But.....I thought about it a bit and for me, I don't believe it will be a problem.

150 miles on the highway is about two hours riding time. I do quite a lot of touring on my '14 Fat Bob with a group comprised of mainly HD Touring bikes and we normally stop for a leg stretch/smoke/gas every 100 miles or 90 minutes(ish).

So the range on the 18 Bob should be OK - for my needs.

By definition, they have mono shock rear suspension.
Calling them a Softail is just something the factory came up with.

They look like glorified Honda's as for a way better ride says ????? the jury is out be it reviews or not. My 86 FXR rode as smooth and cornered as good as any new HD I've ridden. Back in the day when i bought it was thought of as a Jap bike cause it was rubber mounted. My point is Ill shutp until ive ridden one myself. If you want one and think it looks and rides good more power to ya.
