What's your favorite speed?

RE: What's your favorite speed?
This is a great thread...
I used to frequent a V-Star 1100 discussion group (before I traded up to the WG). We had a similar discussion over there. Seems that most of the Metric riders are just the opposite of you guys. They want to go as fast as they (safely) can all the time.
I have never cared much for flying around everywhere. I'm much more comfortable cruising around at 50-60 mph. On the interstates I'm OK with going about 70 but don't care to go over that much. I'd much rather stay around 50-60 and enjoy the ride.

The old lady says my favorite speed is 'lickity-split'. On the dirt (mud) road that goes by my ranch, I stick to 25 - 30 unless they have recently graded it, then 35 works for me. On paved roads, 45 is good for sightseeing or relaxing, 80+ is good for getting someplace.

Rather than just speeds I like certain gear/speed ratios. In the town I love 3rd gear 40 mph , just a super smooth ride.On thehighwayI usually ride at about 65 mphin6th gear but when Im not in a hurry I dump it down to 5th and hang at 60.Ive found some super sweet spots that My bike likes :6th gear at 72 mph ish, and Another smooth spot at around 80.
