Default rough idling - IAT sensor

My bike has been idling rough lately, like rpms drop to something sounding like potato to other times like over 2k, I dont have a tach. I do have a Thundermax.

The diagnostic codes are saying I have a bad Intake Air Temperature Sensor. Does that sound like a bad sensor is causing my idling problems? I live in the tropics so air temp is constant.s

The air temp. sensor tells your computer the air temp going in the bike without this info the thundermax can't add the right amount of gas. Id go with the code on this one.

Before you replace the IAT give it a good cleaning. It's not hard to do; check out this video, it will help you see what you need to do. Turn on the ignition and turn the run/stop switch off and on as you spray the cleaner. I've just used carb cleaner to clean the IAT...

I'd change out the Air Temp Sensor, looks pretty straight forward to change. The ECM may have to learn this new sensor. Also cleaning the idle air control valve wouldn't hurt.
